Delhi Home Guards will now get an enhancement of ex-gratia payment from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh in case of death due to accident during duty.
"L-G Najeeb Jung has approved the enhancement of payment of compensation in the form of ex-gratia lump sum from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh to the member of the Delhi Home Guards in case of death occurring due to accident in the course of performance of duties," G L Meena, special secretary (Home department of Delhi Government), said.
Meena also said that the payment of compensation in the form of ex-gratia lump sum of Rs 5 lakh has also been enhanced to Rs 10 lakh in case of death occurring in the course of performance of duties attributable to acts of violence by terrorists, anti-social elements, etc. For which a notification to this effect has been issued by the government.
"L-G has also approved the major action plan of the Home Guards for the year 20104-15 under which 7000 Home Guard Volunteers will be engaged," Meena said.
