Former agriculture minister Dilip Sanghani today deposed before police in Amreli in connection with alleged election code violation case dated 2012.
He was allowed to go after recording his statement.
"We have recorded his (Sanghani's) statement and asked him to remain present before court whenever required as we are going to file a chargesheet against him in the poll code violation case," said Amreli police inspector A S Pandya.

An FIR had been filed against Sanghani on directions of Election Commission for allegedly flouting the model code of conduct which was in place ahead of Assembly elections in 2012.
It was alleged that despite the code being in force, Sanghani, who was then agriculture minister, inaugurated a project in Amreli city.
Local police had earlier field a C-summary report in the case before a local court claiming that the FIR lacked grounds and that no specific evidence was found against Sanghani during investigation.
However, the court rejected the report, questioning how FIR can be wrong when it was filed by the police inspector concerned himself.
The court also observed that photographs showing Sanghani inaugurating the project had been published in media.
"Now, when court rejected the summary report, we have to proceed further in the case and file chargesheet. Thus, we called him (minister) today at police station. We have asked him to remain present whenever court asks to do so," said Pandya.
