Ex-Home secretary R K Singh files nominations in Bihar

Bureaucrat-turned-politician RK Singh and former Bihar minister Parveen Amanullah, AAP candidate for 2014 election were among the 31 persons who filed nominations for different seats today.

While Singh filed nomination for the Ara seat, Amanullah did so for Patna Sahib constituency, according to information provided by the Election Commission.

Among other prominent candidates, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan of JD(U) submitted papers for Munger from where he is seeking reelection.

Former state police chief Ashish Ranjan Sinha filed nomination as Congress nominee from Nalanda constituency which is native place of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Former state minister Ashwani Choubey filed nomination from Buxar seat. The constituency is in news following revolt by veteran BJP leader and four term MP Lal Muni Choubey over denial of ticket.
 

His RJD competitor and sitting MP Jagdanand Singh of RJD also filed nomination from Buxar seat.

March 26 is he last date for the filling of nominations for the second phase of election in the state on April 17.
