Former Jharkhand health minister Bhanu Pratap Sahi, who faces two corruption cases, was today released from judicial custody after the Supreme Court had last week granted him bail in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
On the basis of the SC order, the special CBI court today released Sahi on two bonds of Rs one lakh each.
Sahi, who has been under treatment at a hospital here, had got bail in another scam pertaining to Rs 130 crore medicine and medical equipment purchase, on January 9 by the Jharkhand High Court.
Sahi, who was a minister in the erstwhile Madhu Koda government, had on August 6, 2011 surrendered to the special CBI court and was in judicial custody.
