Ex-Madhya Pradesh minister Pratap Singh Baghel passes away

Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh minister Pratap Singh Baghel today died of heart failure at a hospital in Jobat area here.

He was 70.

"My father experienced uneasiness while he was returning home from Gujarat by road, following which he was rushed to a hospital in Jobat area," Pratap SIngh's son and the Congress MLA from Kukshi area in Dhar, Surendra Singh Baghel told PTI.

He died of heart failure while undergoing treatment, Surendra Singh said.

Pratap Singh's last rites will be performed at his native village Talawadi in Dhar district tomorrow, he added.

"My father was elected MLA from Kukshi in 1972, 1977 and 1980, respectively. He had represented Dharmpuri constituency of the same district from 1993 to 1998," Surendra Singh said.
 

Pratap Singh had served as minister in MP twice.

He was also elected Member of Parliament from Dhar in 1985.
