Former Congress MP Mahabal Mishra has been booked for allegedly misbehaving with women when he intervened in a fight between two groups in southwest Delhi's Dabri area over installation of a mobile tower, even as he denied the charge.
"The matter is being investigated and several persons, including Mishra, have been booked for several cognisable offences. Arrests are likely," a senior police official said.
According to police, the incident took place last evening when a fight broke out between the families of Mishra's relatives and their neighbours, who live in Vaishali locality in Dabri area.

Mishra was called by his daughter to intervene in the matter. The police was also informed and a team rushed there.
"When the police reached the spot, a woman there, who was later joined by a few others, alleged that Mishra misbehaved with them.
"Similar allegations were levelled against the other party by Mishra's relatives too," the senior official said.
Mishra and others were later booked in cases after police registered cross FIRs under sections of criminal assault, wrongful restraint, house trespass and outraging the modesty of women on the complaints by both the parties, a senior police official said.
Denying allegations of misbehaviour with the women, Mishra said, "It was I who called up the police to report the matter. I did not confront any woman here and such allegations are entirely baseless.
