Ex-MP Mohan Rawale rejoins Shiv Sena

Nearly five months after he was expelled for anti-party activities, former MP Mohan Rawale today rejoined Shiv Sena.

The Sena had in December sacked Rawale, its senior leader and five-time Lok Sabha MP from Mumbai, for dissidence.

The expulsion was ordered shortly after Rawale addressed a press conference in which he launched a no-holds-barred attack on the party leadership and alleged that Shiv Sena was becoming "a party of touts".

The development had come just four days after a stern warning by Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray that all those who did not like his leadership were "free to leave the party".

In March, Rawale had joined the Sharad Pawar-led NCP but it turned out to be a brief association.

Rawale made an appearance on stage at a rally in South Mumbai this evening, in presence of Uddhav.
