'Ultimate Ping Pong', the latest addition to sporting leagues in India, has received a huge shot in the arm after three-time national table tennis champion Niraj Bajaj was today named as a co-promoter of the event.

Bajaj, one of the promoter directors of Bajaj Group, has come on board along side 11EVEN SPORTS Pvt Ltd (ESPL), a company formed exclusively to promote table tennis in India.

An Arjuna awardee, Bajaj has represented India from 1970 to 1977, captaining the team in the last four years.

Speaking on this association, Bajaj said, "Table tennis is close to my heart and I have been contributing to the development of the sport. With Ultimate Ping Pong, I found the right platform to begin our journey in bringing an Olympics medal to Indian table tennis."

UPP with support from ITTF and TTFI will be played in July in three different cities and will witness participation from six franchisees across the country.

The league will feature a total of 48 paddlers (24 men's and 24 women's players), half of which will be from India. They will battle it out for the ultimate championship and prize pool of USD 450,000 making it the highest ever prize money for a table tennis championship in the country.
