A former employee of a Tata Group company has been arrested for allegedly creating a fake e-mail ID of Tata Group CMD Cyrus Mistry to get a job in Jaguar Land Rover Ltd, police said today.

"The city crime branch arrested a person, identified as Vishal Tank, from his residence at Isanpur area here yesterday for making a fake e-mail ID of Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry to get job in Tata Group's subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover Ltd," an official statement said.

Tank had earlier worked as the Assistant Manager with Tata-Hitachi Construction Machinery in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, the statement added.

"Tank had earlier sent his bio-data from his own e-mail account to the senior officials of the Group, including Tata Motors' Director Ralf Speth to get job in Tata, but he was denied it," it said.

Later, Tank also tried to get a job in Tata Sons, but as he did not get any positive response, he created a fake email ID of Cyrus Mistry-- cyrus.Mistry68@gmail.Com, it said.

In the e-mail from the fake ID of Mistry, Tank wrote to the Jaguar Land Rover officials, while identifying himself as the Tata Group Chairman, to consider his bio-data for the job in purchase department.

Finding the email ID of Mistry wrong, legal manager of Tata Motors approached the crime branch, which probed the case and cracked it yesterday.

The crime branch is investigating the case on whether Tank has created fake e-mail ID of any other persons or not.
