A former senior officer with Tata Motors jumped to death from a high-rise in Parel in central Mumbai, police said today.
Prashant Sibal (43) was found in a pool of blood at around 8 yesterday morning after he allegedly jumped from his 15th floor flat in Kalpataru Habitat in Parel.
Police rushed him to a hospital but he was declared dead before admission, said Dilip Ugale, senior police inspector at the Kalachouki Police Station.

However, in a late evening statement, Tata Motors' spokesperson said that Sibal had opted for voluntary retirement. "We are fully cooperating with the concerned authorities investigating this matter," the statement said.
Inspector Ugale said that police found a suicide note in Sibal's bedroom. "It does not blame anybody," he said.
Sibal's family told the police that he was under treatment for depression since April. He used to remain aloof and sometimes locked himself in his room, Ugale said, adding that the police had registered a case of accidental death and further probe was on.
