The mortal remains of former Union minister Sanwarlal Jat were today consigned to flames with full state honours at his native village of Gopalpura in Ajmer district.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, members of the council of ministers, BJP national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav, Congress's state president Sachin Pilot and other leaders paid tributes to Jat.

Jat (62) had last month collapsed at a meeting of BJP MPs and MLAs with Amit Shah at the party's state headquarters here.

He was airlifted to the national capital from Jaipur after his condition turned critical. He died while undergoing treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi, yesterday.
