Amid an all out war in the JPC on 2G spectrum scam, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar today said she was examining the two representations made to her over removal of P C Chacko as JPC chairman and three BJP members from the committee.

"The JPC members came to me in two groups. They have given me the representations," Kumar told reporters here.

To a question when she would decide the issue, the Speaker said, "let me see. It is being examined."

The JPC meet convened today to adopt the controversial draft report was postponed following the death of a Lok Sabha member and it is likely to be held in the first week of May. The term of the Committee ends on May 10 with the end of the budget session of Parliament.

An all-out war broke out today in the JPC when half of its 30 members demanded removal of Chacko and Congress hitting back by seeking the ouster of three BJP members Yashwant Sinha, Jaswant Singh and Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Fifteen members belonging to BJP, JD(U), AIADMK, DMK, Left parties, TMC, and BJD joined hands expressing "no confidence" in Chacko.

Contending "conflict of interest", Congress members said the three BJP members were "instrumental in taking major decisions relating to the telecom sector that are being investigated into by the JPC as its terms of reference is spread over the period from 1998 to 2009, said a letter by Congress members to the Speaker.
