A state Excise and Taxation Officer was allegedly beaten up by unknown assailants at Matoor near Kangra, 15km from here, police said.
In his complaint to police, ETO Tara Chand Thakur has said that he had reached Kachayari Mor near Police Lines here when a group of about 10 persons intercepted his jeep and beat him up before making off with the vehicle.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC in the matter which is under investigation.
