"In my interactions with people of the northeast flocking the railway station since morning, most of them have told me that they were not leaving the city due to threat factor, but they were eager to be with their parents," he told PTI at the railway station here.
The minister, who has been camping since morning, arrived at the station to oversee the arrangements for the journey.
Kumar said he has requested Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar to make a plea to the Railway Board to arrange as many as special trains to clear the rush as he expected more people from the northeast to throng the railway station tomorrow.
The railway authorities have arranged two special trains apart from one regular train to Guwahati.
The 8 pm special train has already departed with several hundreds of NE people pushing their way through doors and windows.
