Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal today asked officers to expedite the process of providing toilet at every household in Punjab so that the state could be made open defecation free at the earliest.
He issued the instruction after a review meeting of toilet-construction work, with the officers of Water Supply and Sanitation department here at Punjab Bhawan.
"The need of the hour is to expedite the pace of work so that the target of making Punjab an open defection free is achieved at the earliest," he said.

Badal asked the officers to also include the newly constructed colonies for weaker and underprivileged sections in the villages under the scheme to provide potable drinking water and toilet facility.
During the meeting, Badal was told that the toilet construction work had been completed in Fathegarh Sahib.
"By the end of current fiscal, 12 more districts including Moga, Ludhiana, Mansa, Faridkot, Bathinda, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and others would also achieve 100 per cent completion target," an official said.
