Expelled leaders of the BJP Mizoram unit today demanded the resignation of the newly appointed state unit president Prof John V Hluna.

The expelled leaders who convened a 'Special Assembly of the BJP Mizoram Pradesh' included former party vice presidents Chalngura Jahau, N Joshua and Laldinliana Hrahsel.

The special assembly delegates accused Hluna of acting against the party constitution by suspending eight top unit leaders and also dissolving district, block and village level unit committees.

The leaders alleged the present state unit president was not appointed with formal approval from the party's national leadership.
