Six Afghan police officers were killed and another three wounded today when a house in the Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province exploded as police were approaching it, a police commander said.
Sultan Mohammed, police chief for Kandahar's Maiwand district, Mohammed said it was still unclear what caused the explosion.
But Mohammed said that it appeared militants in the house were making a bomb and the device either exploded accidentally or was detonated when they saw police approaching the house.
