Two labourers were injured in an explosion in a mine of the Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a central public sector unit, in Ghatsila sub-division today.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Musaboni), Ajit Kumar Vimal, said the explosion took place in Surda mine of the HCL and two workers have suffered minor splinter injuries.

The blast occurred when explosives, which are being used in the mines but presumably left unnoticed, went off, the DSP said.

The injured labourers were admitted to the M G M Hospital here, where were stated to be out of danger.
