A large quantity of explosives and equipment were seized and five persons held from a mining site in Bihar's Rohtas district, a police officer said.
Acting on a tip off, a joint team of Rohtas police and forest officials led by the District Forest Officer (DFO) Amit Kumar raided at Karbandiya mining site and seized a JCB machine, two compressors, 220 gelatin sticks and detonators, besides three tractors loaded with stones, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikas Burman said.
Five persons were arrested from the spot for carrying out illegal quarrying, he said.
