Nearly 15 quintals of explosives were seized from a village in Birbhum district of West Bengal, in the biggest-ever haul of this kind in the district, the police said.
The police seized gelatin sticks, detonators and other explosive stuff at Masra village under Rampurhat sub-division on Monday night, district police superintendent, Alok Rajouria said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police-team, led by Koteswar Rao, SDPO, Rampurhat, raided a house at the village where the huge quantity of explosives had been kept in boxes.
Three persons - Basudev Ghosh, Sujit Das and Sukdev Ghosh - were arrested from the spot in this connection and were produced in Rampurhat court which remenaded the trio in seven days' police custody.
