A large quantity of explosives was seized by the police following a raid conducted in Keshwari Barwadih village under Saraiya police station of the Maoist-affected Giridih district today.
Superintendent of Police, Kanti Kumar told reporters that a police team seized 520 pieces of gelatin sticks during the raid and arrested five persons.
Kumar said the arrested persons did not have any license to store the explosives, which was to be used for illegal mining.
