A large quantity of explosives and allied materials were seized from a field in Rudrapura village in Rohtas district of Bihar, police said today.

Acting on a tip off, police dug out a pulse field and recovered 36 quintals of ammonium nitrate and 700 detonators yesterday, Superintendent of Police Vikas Varman told reporters.

The land owner Bangali Singh Yadav, who has a farmhouse nearby, is absconding.

The explosive materials were supplied to Yadav by a man identified as Sanjay Yadav, a native of Uttar Pradesh, the SP said.

The police had last week recovered 48 quintals of ammonium nitrate, besides 35 litres of spirit from Yadav's farmhouse, he said.
