Delhi Tourism has organised a unique exhibition at the Janakpuri Dilli Haat with a view to showcasing various bamboo products and promoting their use.
With products ranging from decorative pieces to culinary items, all derived from bamboo, the National Bamboo Expo Mart, which is slated to continue till tomorrow, has a lot to offer to visitors.
Demonstrations are being also at the expo, which was inaugurated yesterday, for spreading awareness about the myriad uses of the plant.
"State bamboo missions, entrepreneurs and artisans have been brought together under one roof to create a fertile ground for developing the sector," said a Delhi Tourism spokesperson.
The three-day-event, based on the theme, 'Green Consumerism - The Bamboo Way', has the National Bamboo Mission and Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission as its organising partners.
"Bamboo products like brooms, furniture, vases, office stationery, heavy machinery for bamboo cutting and even bamboo cuisine is on display. Food products like bamboo shoots, bamboo pickle and bamboo rice are also being offered," the spokesperson added.
