India's shipments of goods and services are expected to reach USD 500 billion in 2017-18, apex exporters' body FIEO today said.
"We expect the merchandise exports to be around USD 315 billion and services exports to about USD 185 billion in 2017-18," Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) said in a statement.
The new FIEO President G K Gupta said that exporters should look at increasing shipments more aggressively.

He also said that in the upcoming mid-term review of the Foreign Trade Policy, there is a need to relook at further diversifying the product basket and focus more on high-tech products where India's share in global trade is very low, to further compete in the international market.
FIEO has nominated M Rafeeque Ahmed of Farida Group as its new Vice President.
