Exports of marine products from the country has reached all time-high of USD 3.66 billion during the third quarter of the financial year 2013-14, Marine Products Export Development Authority said here.
Exports aggregated for the period April-December 2013-14 is 692299 MT worth Rs 21828.89 crore and USD 3663.52 million compared to 721182 MT worth Rs 14811.29 crore and USD 2758.01 million during the same period of 2012-13, an MPDA release said here today.
Compared to the previous period export has increased by 47.38 per cent in terms of rupee value and 32.83 per cent in terms of USD terms but decreased by 4.00 per cent in terms of quantity, the release said.

The overall export of shrimp during
April-December'2013-14 was to the tune of 229010 MT worth US dollars 2396.30 million.
The export of shrimp recorded a growth of 27.55 per cent in quantity and 70.53 per cent in US dollar terms compared to the same period of 2012-13.
South East Asia continued as the largest buyer with 38 per cent in terms of quantity. The US became the largest buyer with 27.25 per cent in terms dollars, followed by South East Asia 26.01 per cent, European Union 18.79 per cent, Japan 9.55 per cent, China 5.38 per cent, Middle East 5.22 per cent and
Other countries 7.80 per cent in terms of US dollar.
Exports to South East Asia registered a an increase of 64.71 per cent in rupee value and 45.61 per cent in US dollar terms but decreased in quantity by 0.53 per cent.
MPEDA has fixed a target of USD 4.33 billion for the year 2013-14.
