BJP today urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to expose the pro-self-rule and pro-independence supporters in the rival Congress, NC and PDP even as it underlined its commitment to ensuring political and constitutional integration of the state.

"We urge the people to get ready to defeat the evil designs of pro-autonomy, pro-self-rule and pro-independence forces in the Valley and expose their supporters in parties like the Congress, NC and PDP," BJP state chief Jugal Kishore Sharma said.

Paying floral tributes to the martyrs of the 'Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan, Aur Ek Pradhan' movement of 1952-1953 at a function at Sunderbani in Rajouri district, he urged the people to be prepared for making similar sacrifices.

He said that Beli Ram, Ramji Dass, Krishan Lal and 12 other nationalists had sacrificed their lives during the above movement to bring about the abolition of the permit system and hasten the process of integration.

"If Jammu and Kashmir today is within India and hundreds of Central laws extended to the state after August, 1953, it is only because of the sacrifices these 15 persons and (Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder) Shyama Prasad Mookerjee made," he said.

He said that certain sections were putting forth divisive and unsettling demands which, if accepted, would undo all that the nation had achieved in the last 65 years. These forces have to be defeated comprehensibly so that Article 370 is abrogated, he added.

Article 370 of the Indian Constitution grants special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP leadership is committed to the state's complete integration along with the empowerment of all sections of society, he said.

BJP is making preparations to win at least three Lok Sabha and 32 Assembly seats in the state in elections in 2014, he said.
