A case has been registered against an unidentified person for allegedly trying to extort money from a businessman here, police said today.
Suresh Goyal, resident of sector 9 here, had lodged a complaint with the police saying yesterday he got a call from an unknown person demanding Rs 40 lakh, they said.
Goyal said the miscreant told him that he has got a contract of Rs 30 lakh to kill him, police said, adding a probe into the matter is on.
