Extortion case: Subhash Chandra, Zee editors chargesheeted

Zee Group Chairman Subhash Chandra and Zee editors Sudhir Chaudhary and Samir Ahluwalia were today chargesheeted in a court here in connection with the alleged Rs 100 crore extortion bid from Naveen Jindal's firm, Delhi Police said today.

According to a senior official of the Crime Branch, the charge sheet has been filed against the three under various provisions of the IPC, including sections 384 (extortion), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating).

The charge sheet was filed in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Bansal.

Chaudhary and Ahluwalia were earlier arrested in the case but they are presently on bail in the case filed by Congress MP Naveen Jindal's firm.
 

Regarding Chandra's son and MD of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd Punit Goenka, the police said they have not yet found any evidence against him but the probe into the case is still on.
