BJP's Delhi unit has decided to launch a special membership drive across the state from June 15, in a bid to strengthen its cadre base ahead of Assembly elections likely to be held in the next few months.

At a meeting of office-bearers of the party's state and district units here today, it was decided that the special membership campaign would be launched on June 15 and would continue till June 30.

"During the campaign, the party will try to connect with all sections of the society, especially professionals like doctors, engineers, IT experts, and youths and women," Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana said.

Addressing the meeting, senior BJP leader Prabhat Jha appreciated the work of party workers in the last Lok Sabha elections, and said the 'Mission 2013' in Delhi was still to be completed and all the party workers should be prepared to complete it now.

In the Delhi Assembly elections held in December last year, the BJP won 31 out of 70 seats. Its ally SAD bagged one seat.
