Rajiv Kumar (26) was attacked and killed with sharp-edged weapons when he was returning home in Madhopur village late last night, Additional Superintendent of Police M M Beg said.
Kumar was a witness in a group clash case, which took place last year, he said.
Police suspect that could be the motive behind the murder.
The victim's family members have lodged an FIR against three persons, who have been detained and interrogations are on in the case, they said.
