A 25-year-old man, an eyewitness in a murder case, was allegedly shot at by three men in outer Delhi's Sultanpuri area.

The family of Sidharth Sharma, who is an eyewitness to the murder a woman in March last year in Mongolpuri, said he was being pressured to withdraw his statement but he had refused to back down.

He was shot at last night outside his home in Krishna Vihar area. His mother found him lying in a pool of blood and made a PCR call.

Sharma was rushed to a hospital, where doctors said his condition is critical.

His family claimed they had informed police about the threats but they did not take any action.

Sources said a probe might be initiated against officers for not taking action when Sharma was being threatened.

Police are scanning the CCTV footage of the area and questioning the locals to identify the shooters.

Sharma lives with his mother, younger brother and sister in Krishna Vihar. He is the sole bread earner in the family.
