Fadnavis to unveil 'new model for development' on May 1

The Maharashtra government has prepared a 'new model for development' of the state based on inputs received from college students and it will be unveiled on May 1.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis will unveil the 'new model for development' on May 1, the foundation day of Maharashtra, in the presence of 12,500 students drawn from all over the state, an official release said here today.

It will be part of the government 'Maharashtra Vision 2025' document, it said.

A total of 2,315 ideas were received from 12,500 students from 654 colleges spread across 82 cities of the State. These related to industrial development, employment generation, wealth creation from farming, education, making Maharashtra drought-free and cleanliness, among others.
 

Eleven special ideas from these have been selected for implementation. The chief minister will present the model of development programmes based on these subjects. This is first- of-its kind exercise in Maharashtra, the release said.
