To curb growing tendency to commit suicide among young children who don't perform well at examinations, a noted rights and social activist here has decided to organize a "Failures' Conclave" in the city next month inviting to it people who have seen success in life despite failing in school examinations.
The speakers invited to the conclave include people from different walks of life who went on to distinguish themselves despite faring poorly in their school examinations such as someone who failed twice in school but whose achievements finally won him a Padma Award, a man who failed thrice in a class but became Principal of the same school where he read.
Another speaker will be a man who failed in Physics in Intermediate but became Head of Physics Department in a University.

"In India about 20 students kill themselves every day due to the stress related to exams, wanting to secure seats in prestigious schools, according to the National Crime Records Bureau. It is not them who are failures but it is the system which is a failure," he said.
To be held on October 2 and 3 at the auditorium of RLEK, an NGO run by Kaushal, the conclave seeks to bring to the forefront people who failed in school or other educational forums but made it big in life.
This will inspire children to look beyond their school examinations and have the confidence of doing well in life even if they don't do well at their school exams, he said.
"The idea behind the conclave is not to belittle the good performance of students but to bring confidence and courage to anyone who has failed in any class.
