A 'faith healer' has been arrested from Sopore town in north Kashmir's Baramulla district for allegedly sodomising children, police said today.

A case was registered against Aijaz Ahmad after a victim complained to police that the 'faith healer' had been sexually exploiting him for the last four years, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore, Abdul Qayoom said.

"After we registered an FIR and started investigation, many of his victims turned up and complained that the accused had been exploiting children aged around 15 years for the last 15 to 18 years," the SSP said.

The accused has been arrested and a case under section 377 of RPC has been registered against him, the SSP said, adding, a special investigation team has been formed to probe the case.

"I appeal to parents of all those children who have been exploited by this faith healer to come forward and share the details with police so that a strong case is built against him, the SSP said.
