Fake Bajaj products seized, two held

Two retailers were today arrested here for allegedly selling fake automobile products of auto major Bajaj by the Crime Branch-CID of Tamil Nadu Police.

"Fake products were mingled with genuine Bajaj auto spares and sold in Chintadripet area. Two persons have been arrested and an investigation is on," CB-CID Inspector S Alagarsamy told PTI.

According to the FIR, Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR), having its registered office in Mumbai, lodged a complaint with CB-CID based on an authorisation from Bajaj Auto Limited.

Cases have been booked against the accused under legal provisions including the Copyrights Act.

Officials said the exact value of the products was yet to be ascertained.
