Fake currencies, charas seized from three smugglers

Three smugglers were arrested with Rs 20,000 fake currency and 4.5 kg charas, estimated to cost Rs one crore in the international market, in Bihar's West Champaran district today.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said acting on a tip-off, police recovered 20 fake currency notes of Rs 1,000 denomination and 4.5 kg charas from three inter-state smugglers at Baghinath.

The three, who have been identified, had hidden the contraband and the fake currency notes in their motorcycle which were found during checking, he said.

The consignment was to be handed over to a person outside the district.
