Fake currency found in 2 places, 3 held

Fake currency having face value of Rs 7 lakh was seized from three persons in separate raids in Malda district since last night.

A senior police officer said counterfeit notes with the face value of Rs 2.97 lakh were found in the possession of two persons at Baishnabnagar near Indo-Bangla border by BSF this morning.

In an earlier raid by the district police last night, a youth was nabbed and fake notes with the face value of Rs 4 lakh were found from him at Englishbazar area of Malda town, the officer said.

During the raid by BSF, three mobiles, one Bangladeshi SIM card and a bike were found in the possession of the two detained youth.
