Fake currency notes with face value of Rs 1.45 lakh seized

Acting on a tip off, the police raided the house of a counterfeit notes smuggler Rajesh Mandal from Masadhu village and seized the haul of FICN comprising 81 notes in denomination of Rs 1000 and 128 notes in Rs 500 denomination, Superintendent of Police K S Anupam said.

She said that Mandal has been arrested on charge of trafficking of fake currency notes.

Raids were being carried out at various places in Bhagalpur and Munger districts to nab other persons involved in running fake currency note circulation of fake counterfeit notes.

Mandal was arrested by Katihar police on similar charges earlier and out on bail, the SP said.
