Fake currency notes worth Rs 2 lakh seized

A man was today arrested after fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 2 lakh in Rs 2000 denomination was seized from his possession in Dhulyan here, police said.

The accused, Alam Sheikh, is a resident of Malda district, a major node of the international fake currency racket, they said.

Acting on a tip-off, the accused was held from a local market in the area, police said, adding an investigation has been launched.
