Fake curriencies seized, six member gang arrested

The CB-CID Police have arrested a six member gang involved in printing and circulating fake currency notes and seized from them 1000-rupee fake currencies worth Rs.7.50 lakh and printing equipments, police said today.

Police said following a tip off that the gang, headquartered in Erode, was printing and circulating fake currency notes the CB-CID formed a special squad and trapped them late last night.

Police said the gang had confessed to them that they have circulated Rs 50 lakh worth of notes so far and cheated several persons.

Police seized the equipments from the house of Kumaresan, who led the gang at Erode.
 

All of them were remanded to judicial custody and lodged in central prison at Madurai.
