Police today claimed to have unearthed a factory involved in the manufacturing of fake medical equipments with the arrest of two persons in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, crime branch of Delhi Police arrested Gulshan Kumar (33) and Ganesh Kumar Sharma (26) yesterday and seized 370 boxes of fake sugar test strips, 200 duplicate dialysis guide wires and 500 fake catheters.

A large quantity of raw materials to manufacture fake equipments was also recovered, police said.

Gulshan was arrested from Baba Kharag Singh Marg near RML Hospital where he had come to deliver a consignment, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.

"During interrogation, he told police that he is running a factory, where he manufactures duplicate medical equipment. He led a police party to his factory in Madipur Village near Punjabi Bagh from where Ganesh was arrested," he said.

"With the huge margin and difference in cost of the original and duplicate products, the accused were earning quick and easy money," Yadav said.
