Fake notes seized, 2 held

Fake notes, with the face

value of Rs 3,03,650, were found in the possession of two persons at Ranaghat in Nadia district.

The fake currencies were in the denomination of Rs 50 and Rs 100, a senior police officer said.

The seizure was made after one of the members of the household of the main accused gave a Rs 50 note to a fast food vendor and he found it to be fake last night.

The hawker and his friends then informed the police and following the raid the fake currencies and a high-tech scanner was found, the officer said.
 

The main accused Koushik Rakshit and his maid were produced in the local court today.
