Mentha oil down by 0.2% on low demand

Mentha oil weakened by 0.17% to Rs 900 per kg in futures trade today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December month eased by Rs 1.50, or 0.17% to Rs 900.00 per kg in business turnover of 79 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in January 2016 contracts shed Rs 1.40, or 0.15% to Rs 912.00 per kg in 13 lots.

Analysts said besides easing demand from consuming industries in the spot market, sufficient stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
