Fame is 'quite empty', says Geri Horner

Singer Geri Horner says she does not believe in giving much thought to the word "fame".

The 44-year-old diva thinks fame has its advantages but is "quite empty", reported Femalefirst.

Speaking to Metro newspaper, Horner says, "When we're young we all have a childish perception of how something will be. It's like 'The Wizard of Oz' - you pull the curtain back and realise it's just a bloke with a megaphone. Our value systems change.

"What does fame mean? It means recognition and validation. It has its advantages but it's quite empty if that's what your self-worth depends on. It gives you a way to connect with people but it's just a vehicle for me to share my music with people. "

Although the "Angels in Chains" hitmaker has been out of the music business for a while now, she believes her life has come "full circle".

"I just love being creative. I love writing. I think I lost touch with that slightly over my career but I've come full circle.
