Famed violinist passes away

Famed violinist Kumar Dinesh passed away yesterday, family sources said today.

Ailing for the last one month, the 86-year-old violinist from the Chhotanagpur Raj Gharana passed away at a hospital in Delhi, the sources said.

He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.

A violinist of repute, Kumar Dinesh who stayed at P P Compound in Ranchi, enthralled audience both in the country and abroad.

He was conferred upon "Jharkhand Ratna" and other awards in his illustrious career.

"He was from the Chhotanagpur Raj Gharana. His demise is a great loss to the art," senior journalist Yogesh Kislay said.
