A tribal family from the district has complained that their neighbour allegedly snapped ties with them following a dispute and also prevented other villagers from communicating with them.
In a complaint to local district and police officials, one Barkya Ratna Varta has said that there was a dispute over land with his neighbour in the village Jamshet-Vasantwadi at Dahanu tehsil.
"A local court gave a judgement in my favour on the land matter, following which I laid a compound on the plot. My neighbour raided the premises and attacked my family in May last year. They also damaged the compound following which I suffered losses to the tune of around Rs 1 lakh," the complaint said.

He also claimed that some village goons also threatened other villagers asking them not to keep any ties with the family.
He said following the threats, villagers could not attend the engagement function of his daughter.
When contacted, Deputy Superintendent of Police Dahanu Division Sachin Padkar said police had received the complaint in this regard.
"This is a case of personal feud which is going on since a long time. It is not a case of a mass social boycott of the family," he said.
