Family members of a teenage girl, whose body was found two days ago, today refused to cremate her and blocked the roads in Police Lines here demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

The body of a 14 year-old girl, who had gone missing on September 7, was found on September 11 and handed over to the family after post mortem examination but refused to perform the last rites, police said.

The family has charged a youth living in Police Lines with murder as the call record details of the girl's mobile showed that he had spoken 60 times with her on the day she went missing, they said.

The family demanded immediate arrest of the youth who was released after questioning by police. They also demanded suspension of the concerned police station in-charge.

The blockade was lifted following the intervention of senior officials but the father has not relented to the request of performing the last rites of his daughter.

The father of the deceased is a police follower.
