The final upgraded proposal on developing Faridabad as a smart city has been submitted to the Union Urban Development Ministry.
The revised proposal, projecting a total expenditure of Rs 2,600.01 crore, has been prepared after consultation with residents and meetings with officers of different departments of the State Government, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies, Anil Kumar said today.
Faridabad was shortlisted as one of the fast track cities for smart city by the Urban Development Ministry, he said.

Besides area-based development proposals, the revised proposal includes smart mobility incorporating pedestrianisation and non-motorised Transport.
It also includes intelligent traffic management system, which comprises synchronised traffic signals for optimum traffic flow, intelligent car parking system, smart signage, smart auto and taxi stands and public bike sharing system, Kumar said.
Apart from these, smart civic infrastructure has also been included in the revised proposal, he added.
