A 45-year-old aggrieved farmer today consumed poison in the Khandaghosh police station in the district alleging 'police inaction' in to his complaint against some people that they were threatening him not allowing him to cultivate a land.
Bhaktiyar Hussain, Officer-in Charge of Khandaghosh police station, said farmer Sheikh Rezaul came to visit him and was talking to him about his complaint he had made last Sunday when he suddenly consumed poison and became unconscious.
Rezaul was immediately rushed to the Burdwan Medical College Hospital, the officer said.

They were allegedly not allowing him to cultivate a land at Lodhna village which he had been cultivating for the last four years, the police said.
The OC said that Rezaul had been cultivating the land as per an agreement with the land-owner.
However, this year, according to the complaint, the owner asked him not to cultivate the land any more on the ground that he had not paid them as per the agreement.
