: A 60-year-old bachelor farmer was found dead in his field at Paykadu in the district today with his throat slit and stab marks in his chest, police said.
The man had gone to his fields last evening. Neighbours and members of the public found his locked this morning and tried contacting him on his cellphone, but there was no reply. They then launched a search for him and found his body in the fields.
Police said the motive for the murder was not known.
